The Perfect Date is on the Horizon...

Move with a partner and put your ideas together from last night’s homework: Describe, step by step, how to prepare the perfect date (or if you did "how to prepare for the perfect date, that's fine, too).  Work on the computer to come up with a working paragraph in Microsoft Word. Remember, you must be clear, detailed, and organized (and appropriate!!). When finished, copy and paste your final paragraph into a comment box of this post. Be sure to list BOTH of your names so that you each get credit for this blog post. Remember, your ideas will be posted for all to read, so be sure to be concise and, again, APPROPRIATE!

You have 10-15 minutes to do this.
By the way, what type of process analysis is this?  Directive or Informative?

Next, please go to the assignment drive and open the pdf document "Process Analysis: Explaining Step by Step." : Let's look at a sample process essay.  We will be working with this document today and tomorrow, so if you would like to save it to your googledocs or traveldrive, please feel free to do so.  Otherwise, it's available on the assignment drive.

Homework tonight:  Brainstorm for tomorrow's class activity.  Describe a step by step, a really, really, bad day that has happened to one of the characters on your handout.  Think about what subtext you would include.  Be ready to discuss with your partner tomorrow.

In addition, choose a topic that you will write your process analysis essay on.  Will it be directive or informative?  What type of critical thinking will you use for your analysis?  How will you use literary and language tools to add subext, context, perception, tone, theme, transition, etc.

  1. The guy will pick the girl up at 7:00. They decide they want to go to the movies. After the movie is finished they go to her favorite restaurant. They both get dessert and leave to go to look at the stars. After that they leave to go back home. He says that he would like to go out again.

  2. When going on a perfect date, the first thing you want to do is pick up your date on time. Don’t be late when you pick them up because it will give a bad first impression and you’ll start the night off on the wrong foot. When you get to the destination of your perfect date, the movies, make sure you buy your date the ticket along with snacks. Don’t be cheap because it’s not the proper thing to do. Also, make sure the ticket you purchase is for a movie that your date wants to see, not you. When watching the movie, make sure you talk occasionally to avoid silence. However, don’t talk too much because you are there to watch the movie, not to talk. After the movie, take your date out for dinner. Keep proper table manners when you’re out to dinner. At dinner make sure you keep up a conversation. Talk about the movie or any other interesting topic you can think of. Make sure you pay for the dinner; you don’t want to be labeled as cheap. Finally, drive your date home and say goodbye.

It can be very time consuming to prepare the perfect date, but if you follow these simple steps, it can be very easy to setup. First, call the person you are going on the date with and ask that person which day they can go out. Next, schedule a time and day that works for both you and the other person. After you decide on a day and time, decide which food both you and the other person would like to eat. When that decision has been made, discuss the restaurants that offer the food you and the other person decided on and choose which restaurant you will be going to. Next, call that restaurant and make a reservation. When that is completed, call your date and tell her what time you are going to pick her up. Now, pick your clothes you will wear on the date. Next, make sure your car is clean and has enough gas. Leave a few minutes early to ensure you are on time and drive to her house to pick her up. Finally, drive to the restaurant and enjoy your date.

  4. The first step to a perfect date is to set a date and time. Next, find a partner you desire to share this magical experience with. Then pick a place you would like to go, such as a sunset picnic on the beach. Next, rent a limo to pick up your date. When the limo arrives at her home, get out and go to the door to meet her parents. Once you make a good impression, escort your date to the limo. First, open the door and allow her to take a seat. Next, close the door, and slide over the hood of the car (Just like they do in the movies, but try not to fall), and get into your side of the limo. Once arrived at your destination, set up the picnic and learn about your partners interests. Finally, consume the dinner, and watch the sunset. Once the date comes to a close, bring your date back home, walk her up to the door, compliment her, and kiss her goodnight. -Brittany Redmond and Dani Nizich

  5. The girl finds out what style of clothes to wear. She picks out her clothes and gets her nails done the night before. She gets a good night sleep so she won’t be tired for the date. Three hours before the date she showers, blow dries and styles her hair and does her makeup. Once that’s done she gets dressed and finds accessories and shoes to go with her outfit and waits for her date to arrive.

  6. For the perfect date, be sure to get ready. Shower, brush your teeth, and put on makeup along with a nice outfit. It is very important to make sure that you are even asked out first. Plan a nice restaurant to go to after you are asked. If he doesn’t pay for you, then you know that he’s out! When you are eating, make sure to have manners, nobody likes a messy eater…such a turn off. Before your date comes to get you, practice talking so that there isn’t any awkward silence. Most of all have fun and be yourself!

You start off the perfect date by calling the girl and politely asking if she would accompany you to the club, which is bumping. She happily agrees and they both begin to get ready. They both shower and put on their best clothing. You pick the girl up in his car and heads to the club. They eat, dance and have a great time. Then after a great time, they decide it is time to leave, and go back to the man’s apartment. They go inside, watch a movie and eat popcorn. After a great night the girl leaves and gets hit by an 18 wheeler for texting and driving. You see what happened to Daphney? That is why you don't text and drive.

  8. First you should call your date and make sure she is willing to go on such a date with you. After that you would make a reservation to a restaurant, and then you would prepare for the date. Some sort of nice buttoned shirt would be best, something not to fancy but still presentable. Nice pants that match your shirt would also be recommended, as well as a pair of dress shoes. Combing hair is also important to not look like a ruffian. Once you are ready to go, you should pick up your date at her house at an appropriate time so you are on time for your reservation. After that you should complement her on her attire, and should then drive to the restaurant safely. After your enjoyable meal you should come to an agreement with your date on the payment, and should then leave the establishment with your date. You then drive her home and you should then go home.

Preparing for the perfect evening with a significant other can be extremely stressful; but, follow my tips and it will be a breeze. Find out the type of food your date loves. However find out through a mutual friend rather than bluntly ask the question. Doing this in a secretive manner will enhance the surprise element and will thus be a “perfect date.” Next book a reservation at an eloquent restaurant, but keep budget in mind. Nobody wants to feel pressured financially just for one night. Then plan an event after the dinner whether it be going to the beach for a concert or meeting up with mutual friends. Don’t cut the evening short or drag it out. Wherever you decide to go after dinner make sure you tell your date to bring appropriate clothing, no woman wants to be in heels if they have to walk a substantial amount. And finally always plan for the worse but expect the best. It’s okay if your event doesn’t go exactly as planned, as long as the two of you are having fun and connecting.

How to prepare for the perfect date:
Planning for the perfect date starts out with first finding a date. Once you find a date, make sure you look at common interests. This will help you decide what to do on your date. If you decide to have a low key night and stay home, make sure you clean your house. Prepare a tasty dish that will satisfy both you and your date. If you don’t know how to cook order some Chinese food. Make sure you dress appropriately, but don’t overdress. Go to red box and buy movies to watch after dinner is finished. When your date comes over don’t act too nervous. See how the night goes, and maybe a delightful kiss will end the night right.

First, find a date. Decide, with your date, on a venue to go to during the date, such as a restaurant, theater, concert, or beach. Make sure that on the actual date, you are dressed nicely but appropriately. Pick up your date. Make sure to drive safely to get to the chosen venue. Dead people don't date. Have fun on the date, don't seem too nervous, be funny. Then, after you are both satisfied with the activites, drive your date home. Then go home.

  12. We believe that to have a perfect date you need to have the other person in mind. You want to makesure you do what the other person wants because that makesense. You want them to feel comfortable and want them to enjoy their time spent with you. You want to arrive on time when you go to pick up the date because being tardy is not cool. When you are on your date you want to communicate alot, but preferably keeping in mind being the listener. Be prepared and have money because you need to expect the unexpected. Don't be cheap and pay for mostly everything. Make sure you are the driver. Keep the interest going and avoid awkard conversation, come prepared with topics to discuss. With these steps it will ensure a great time and the perfect date!

How to prepare for the perfect date:
The first thing you should focus on while preparing the date is yourself. Make sure you look presentable and clean cut. You should plan out your conversation topics so there are no awkward silences. A reservation is key as well to the restaurant you are dining at because you don’t want any problems, waits, or unexpected mishaps. Go to a restaurant that has a diverse menu. You would like to have been before so you know exactly what to expect. Make sure you have extra money so you can pay for yourself and your date. After dinner, have a plan to either walk around town and/or go ice cream.

On the date keep the conversation casual. Don’t bring up politics religion and ex-relationship. When you drop her off after walk her to the door and give her a kiss on the cheek.

The guy texts the girl to meet him at the movies. He requests to see the 8:00 showing of “I’m in love with a church girl” that comes out Friday night. She responds with an overly excited “k.” Before leaving for the movies, the girl and guy both make sure that they look and smell great for the date. The girl requests that the guy buys snacks and he generously buys her the kid’s pack of popcorn and snacks. When he delivers her the snacks, she kindly throws them back into his face and storms out of the movie theater. This was the end of Bob and Marge’s Three year relationship. They never spoke again.

The first thing you have to do to prepare for the perfect date is ask the girl out and make sure she says yes. Then, find out from her best friend what her favorite restaurant is or what kind of food she likes. Once you know this, you can make a reservation at a place she would like. Making a reservation insures that you will have a table when you go out. Tell the girl what time you will pick her up so that she has time to look nice. Make sure when you go to pick her up, you have enough money to pay for the both of you. Pick her up on time, and make sure you smell nice. Bring her a single rose and make sure you open the car door for her. When you go to the restaurant, pull her chair out for her as well. Dinner may take a while, so prepare sparks of conversation to avoid awkwardness. Remember to be yourself. When the check comes, make sure you take it right away so she does not have a chance to see the total or even attempt to pay. Make sure you get her home on time so she doesn’t get in trouble and be respectful to her parents to get on their good side. Open the car door for her and walk her to her door. If you feel like the date went well, kiss her goodbye. If it didn’t, you can kiss her on the cheek and go home. The next day, make sure to call no matter how the date ended.

First you should take a shower. Next you should brush your teeth. Be sure to have a nice outfit picked out to change into after you have showered. Next brush your hair and put on cologne. Call the restaurant before you leave and make sure your reservations are still on. After this, you should make sure you have money for the date. Next, drive to your date’s house, and introduce yourself to her parents. Then you can make your way to the restaurant with your date. Be sure to keep an active conversation in the car to keep things interesting.

Before you prepare for a date, you need to find a date. Once you find a date, you should prepare your outfit, hair, and makeup. Make sure you feel comfortable, but stylish. Then prepare a romantic dinner by the water. Check the weather before you go, because you don’t want any mishaps. Eat your meal, and make sure the guy pays, but have money on you just in case. After the dinner, walk on the pier, if there is one. Have fluent conversations, and talk about each other’s interests.

    The perfect date

First, you have to ask out the perfect girl. Then to prepare for the perfect date you must follow; go to the store and find something nice to wear. Next you have to remember to shower and wear deodorant. After these steps you must find the perfect place to go, most likely dinner and a movie. Be sure to find a place that she would want to eat and a movie that seems interesting. Find out the dates curfew so you can have her back in time with no rush. If the opportunity occurs where you must meet the parents make sure to be respectful and courteous. When you pick her up open the car door for her, and when you drop her off make sure you ask her to go on another date soon as possible.

How to prepare for the perfect date:
First off, you should find someone that you have many things in common with. Having things in common with your date allows you to have subjects to talk about and connect with each other. Before the date you should plan on setting up a reservation at a restaurant. Certain steps must take place before going out; getting ready by showering, brushing your teeth and picking out something nice to wear are very important first steps. At the restaurant you should engage in stimulating conversations and also be polite and have good manners at the table.

  24. Find a girl you like, ask her out, make sure she says yes. Know what she is into, and plan accordingly. Pick a restaurant within your budget (don’t go overboard), cooking is always a bonus. Make sure you have enough money on you. Think of potential conversation points, common interests always work. Don’t be nervous, be yourself. Shower and shave. Use deodorant. Wear your pants around your waist, use a belt. Don’t use too much cologne. For the first date, a collared shirt never hurt anyone, show her you’re interested in her, but don’t overdress for the location you’re going to. Shake her dad’s hand, but do it right. While out, make sure she’s comfortable. Don’t overdo it. Compliment her, but don’t be excessive about it. Participate in conversation, remember what she says, actually listen to her. Hold the door for her. Chivalry isn’t dead. Don’t blast music, let her control the radio. It’s best if you genuinely care about her.

Make sure you are on time! Be polite, have manners and always keep a smile on. Keep the conversation going and even if you don't feel like it act like you are interested! 26. To have the perfect date, you must prepare. Firstly, it is important to find out exactly what your date likes to do and eat. With this information in mind, one can make a reservation at a nice restaurant and plan the rest of the night accordingly. When you pick your date up, make sure you're on time. Also, be sure to make a quick stop for some flowers, they're always a nice touch. A few quick tips: always compliment your date and hold all doors for your date. You should always pick up 100% of the bill as well. When driving your date home, make sure you're not texting! You don't want to end up like poor Daphney, do you?!

  27. To create the perfect date, one should try to go all out for their date. They can achieve this by treating them to a fancy restaurant and surprising them with little moments throughout the night. Purchasing little gifts like a buke of roses and a box of chocolates can make that date a little more special. It's also very important to be well groomed and mannered to win the heart of your date. After the dinner is over, the man can finish the date by escorting his date home and showing his affection for her with a little kiss.

  29. In order to have the perfect date, you must prepare yourself for anything. First you have to find a guy to go on a date with you. Make sure that you have his number so that you can call him to plan a day and time that works best for you both. Next you both should think of places to go. Ask him to go to a restaurant of your choice and make reservations. Once that is done, make sure you give yourself enough time to get ready. After showering pick out a nice outfit, then put some makeup on and do your hair. After all of this is done you are pretty much ready to go. During your date always remember your manners and try to keep the conversations going the best you can.

  30. First before you plan the date, you need to find a date. Once the girl reassures you that she is accepting to go out with you on a date then you start planning it. Surprise her, ask her a couple of things she likes to do and pick one to do . For example a dinner and movie is a traditional and good date to do. Make reservations at her favorite restaurant after asking her what her favorite type of food is. It will be that much easier knowing what she likes so you can book the right restaurant. Ask her what genre of movies she likes to watch, and pick a movie thats out to see in that category. The day of the date go out and buy flowers and get a nice hair cut so your fresh and clean for the date. Shower before the date so you don't smell. Make sure you dress nice, but not to over dressed you don't want seem like your trying to hard. When going to pick her up make sure you give her at least a 15 minute notice, because most girls take forever . When you pick her up keep the conversation flowing, ask her things she likes and about her life but not too in depth because first dates are not supposed to go there yet. If all is well the date will turn out perfect.

  31. A perfect date requires some preparation, but will all be worth it. First, you must choose a person who is compatible with you to ensure that what you do on the date is fun to both of you. To cut down on the stress of going out on a date, choose a casual location such as the movies. Select a scary movie to provide an excuse for cuddling. When the movie is over, suggest visiting an ice cream shop. Whoever paid for the movie will not pay for the ice cream to be fair. Proceed to have light-hearted conversation while throwing in some jokes. Both people should have a lovely time if the directions are followed to a "T".
